Melbourne based art and design festival Semi–Permanent presents its first show on the Gold Coast this Friday. The exhibition entitled “Tuesday” will expose work from local artists.
Semi–Permanent is recognized within Australia’s arts community as an event supporting young artists, illustrators and designers who are planning a career path in the visual arts.
“It’s a great chance for us young artists on the Gold Coast who are trying hard to be seen. It’s not so easy here. It also helps us network with the Brisbane arts scene,” said Hannah Smith who works for and exhibits at the 19 Karen gallery.
The event’s first visit to the Gold Coast represents recognition of an emerging arts scene in a region otherwise regarded as barren of such culture.
The show will be held at 19 Karen Avenue, Mermaid Beach from 5pm, for one night only before moving to Brisbane.
